Let's start with the origins: Artifact is a video game of collectible cards that takes DOTA2, one of the most successful valve titles in history, as the setting and starting universe. Dota 2 is a completely free online battle arena multiplayer that bases in-game purchases completely on cosmetic objects and nothing changes to the gameplay of the title. As in any self-respecting mob, the map is divided into large sections called Lanes; each lanes has its own number of fortifications that help repel the enemy. All the Lanes culminate in two different bases, one for factions; each base contains a structure called ancient which is the ultimate goal of the title, it is necessary to defend one's own ancient while destroying the adversary.

 

To destroy the ancient it is necessary to collaborate with four other players, creating a team where different heroes hold different roles; each hero has a series of unique abilities and possibilities that can create synergies or obstacles with the other heroes on the battlefield. During the game the game engine will create neutral creatures called creeps; if a hero gives the creep the last blow then he will receive a variable amount of money and experience; money is a very important resource because it allows the player to buy new items with which to enhance their character. The title is available exclusively on PC and runs on Source 2, Valve new graphic engine. For the moment we know that Artifact will contain 280 cards and over 44 different heroes on the day of its release; with this pool of available actions it will be necessary to check the three playing fields that represent the lanes of the original mob. Each lane will, on balance, be a real gaming table; within these fields you will find a tower, that is a fortification that represents the first small goal to be taken down. Each game tower has 40 life points and represents the first goal of the expansionist aims of each player; bringing the life points of a tower to 0 means breaking it down and opening the way to the final goal of each game: the ancient one. An ancient structure with 80 life points which represents the ultimate goal of every Artifact game: take down a ancient means victory, losing one's old means defeat.
